För den som har saknat den 170 cm långe grunge legenden Kurt Cobain kan man nu ta en titt på den ikoniska 90-tals stjärnans saker som sedan igår visas upp under en begränsad tid på den exklusiva utställning i Experience Music Pavilion Museum, Seattle, i Washington.

Kurt Donald Cobain född 30 februari 1967 var sångare, gitarrist och låtskrivare i Nirvana som han startade tillsammans med Krist Novoselic i Aberdeen, Washington, 1987. Bandet blev snabbt ett stjärnskott på Seattles grunge scen. Debut albumet Bleach släpptes på independent labeln Sub Pop 1989.

1991 släpptes andra albumet Nevermind som blev en enorm succé och med den blev Nirvana allmänt utsett till att vara ett “the flagship band” av Generation X som den större delen av fan-skaran bestod av. Kurt blev utsedd till att vara talesperson för den såkallade Generation X trotts att han själv oftast var väldigt obekväm i rollen som han ofrivilligt fått sig tilldelad. Det beskrivs att han kände sig enorm frustrerad över att han trodde att hans artistiska vision hade blivit missförstådd av publiken som istället blandade ihop den med hans personliga problem som ofta uppmärksammades i media.

Sina sista år hade Kurt Cobain en personlig kamp mot sitt heroin beroende, kroniska hälsoproblem och depression. Han hade svårt att hantera sin publika image, sin berömmelse och den uppmärksamhet han fick. 8 April 1994 hittades han död i sitt hem efter att ha skjutit sig själv i huvudet vid bara 27 års ålder. Sedan dess har omständigheterna kring hans död diskuterats och debaterats flitigt omkring i världen samtidigt som bandet sålt över 75 miljoner album.
