Det har varit tyst här ett par dagar, tänkte att ni var trötta på allt tjat om Japan. Sen har vi inte gjort sådär väldans mycket att uppdatera om heller för att vara ärlig. Vi ställde in resan till Ishigaki bara timmar innan vi skulle åka och efter det drabbades vi av lite koma – vad skulle vi hitta på istället? Vi bokade in oss på ett lite lyxigare hotell i Osaka ett par dagar där vi först gjorde absolut ingenting alls (jag lämnade inte ens hotellrummet!) och sedan besökte vi Universal studios i en värme som var… kompakt. Kan inte beskriva det på annat sätt. Absolut vindstilla, typ 30 grader och en luftfuktighet av en annan värld. Tur Gud skapat bergochdalbanor säger jag bara. Så det fläktade lite och man fick lite svalka.
Vi kände ändå att vi ville ha lite strandliv så vi åkte ned till kusten och Shirahama. En resort-ort uppbyggd runt varma källor. Hotellet är sådär superjapanskt med skjutdörrar i papper och folk går runt i kimonos hela tiden. Här är det också varmt men vid havet fläktar det skönt och vi har badat i ett varmt Stilla Havet. Fast stilla är det inte! Vi (jag) har kastats runt som små vantar av vågorna. Kul men samtidigt lite läskigt för man har liksom inget att sätta emot.
Snart är det dags att åka norröver och hem. Kan inte fatta att det gått nästan tre veckor redan!
// It’s been quiet here for a few days, thought you might be sick of hearing about Japan. And we haven’t done much the past couple of days either to be honest. We cancelled the leg to Ishigaki just hours before we were supposed to go and after that we sort of fell into a coma- what were we to do instead? We booked a more luxurious hotel for a few days in Osaka where we first did absolutely nothing (I didn’t even leave the hotel room!) and then we went to the Universal studios amusement park in a heat that was… compact. Can’t describe it in another way. Absolutely no wind and about 30 degrees. And a humidity out of this world. Thank God created roller coasters is all I have to say. Wouldn’t have gotten any relief otherwise.
We still felt we needed some beach time and set off to to the coast and Shirahama. It’s a resort town built around hot springs. Our hotel is super Japanese with paper sliding doors and people walk around wearing kimonos. It’s hot down here too but by the ocean it’s a always a nice breeze and we’ve swam in a warm Pacific. The waves have thrown us (me) around like we were nothing and it’s fun yet scary because you realize that you’ve got nothing to put up against them.
Soon it’s time to head north and home. Can’t believe our three weeks are almost up!
