BetOnline Review

It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be far more fun…and much less stressful.
I’d bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made choices a couple of years ago that’s likely cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, because of lost business from bad PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of those beside you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our customers — and believe that now they are a trusted and legit gaming company — we think you have a right to know the whole story before opting to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to create so many people mad?
We think a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of unethical behaviour, which range from telling enjoys to withholding money to having shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they whined about what network it was around. They claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked away.
Later reports (in BetOnline) indicated that things were nice and fixed, which BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie also if we were on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a lousy approach to market a new item. It doesn’t exude confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from customers. The justification was almost always because the client allegedly cheated, although no evidence was ever provided from BetOnline (from the cases we have read).
One example that caught our attention was of a pro who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories that showed him jobless (for proof).
He got them though. What he did get was vacant promises about how they had been on the way, and the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories since the documents were too big.
(Anyone who knows anything regarding internet poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why wouldn’t you send proof someone cheated in case you do not have anything to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the participant get his cash back. His last update mentions being relieved about the way it worked out for himbut also stated the exact same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the participant didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped into his friend. But here’s the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which no one else would be hurt. He did it so his buddy could have an extra $50 to play at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from the same house at the moment. Most sites would not even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most sites would’ve caught it much sooner), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s though, is the way they needed to also take his 37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that most legit websites would never have allowed two people from the exact same IP to sit at precisely the exact same table. And, if they did, the moment they guessed chip dumping had happened, the player’s accounts would come under inspection. He’d not have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now that he did, BetOnline wanted it. But, technically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s activities (that was no one). So it is ridiculous BetOnline thinks they should be able to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The last example we wish to share is a case where a BetOnline rep outed how the staff understood their client’s passwords and login numbers. You can see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a good point. If everybody in the company has access to your login information, what is stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into accounts and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a good answer, only a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’re going to see even more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is the way these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer number of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were trying hard to pay their clients.
Thent a few months after a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the acquisition, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and previous payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “However, since there is a large backlog of pending payouts, they have to be conducted through different fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is complete, customers will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment choices, including same day options.”
Nobody knows exactly how much BetOnline needed to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for over $1.5 million in obligations that wasn’t reported from the previous management. I think it would be safe to presume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the last year or so.
There are a few complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we will address in the future in our inspection once it makes sense. But it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They even have satisfied customers, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does this mean for you? In the event you forget and forgive? Are they safe enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We’ll be honest — there’s no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 when we’d heard or known about any of those reports previously. No one in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the mistakes they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications is not to be taken lightly.
But since buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to manage operations, things have improved radically. So much so that we’re comfortable today recommending them to our readers.
And it is not just us. If you look at other BetOnline reviews, then you’ll see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing there, only to get a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review below.
But, as best as we can tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they currently offer players. So we feel secure having accounts here.
It’s up to you to decide if you are feeling the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous out of the way, let’s jump into what’s important now — and that is what BetOnline provides in terms of banking, betting choices and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid choice of banking options. However, you will want to remember that what’s available for you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let’s start with their deposit choices.
Deposit Options
Listed below are the payment procedures BetOnline accepts and the min/max limitations for each:

The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They’re one of the only sites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those additional kinds, charging 4.9 percent.
Cash Outs
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, you can utilize:

What I do not like is how you’ll pay a fee for every banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% fee.
That said, I have seen firsthand reports from customers who say they have received payments over 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are in the US market.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their site, but I have seen reports that suggest BetOnline gives you a $50 credit monthly if you put in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the entire fee, but it is far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. This means you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and likely most popular product, is their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline offers action on horses, sports and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most well-known sports in the US. Included in these are:
Automobile racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Soccer Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Soccer Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also bet on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Soccer 1 option they have added recently is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how quickly the business is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, too, though it appears like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they only have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare this to Bovada who is covering 5+ games across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That having been said, I think that it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they’re still trying to find their bearings in this growing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to enlarge their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is their odds on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing to the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s going to be true, nor can it matter if they never expand this part of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on these.
They offer live betting also. These options change continuously, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for soccer, baseball and tennis. You might also keep tabs on a couple games concurrently utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
One thing they’re known for are the higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. It is also possible to raise your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable number of promotions, and far more than you will see in their own racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — make a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a listing of races in their webpage. Each record tells you the number of spacious races you’ll find, which should you click on it will expand to show you the races, horses, jockeys and odds.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a good section to look through is their racebook info tab in their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their track limitations. This tells you that the maximum you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you’ll make in case your bet(s) win.Their rules and the types of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a good section if you’re new to horse betting.
And that is about it. This segment is far more compact than their sportsbook.
That said, their racebook does have a few offers too, though nowhere near the caliber or volume their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of these offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the very first time from the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will refund you around $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include signature, range, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to bet on will depend on your bet type.
This segment looks to be an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is among the most well-known alternatives for Americans. They’re part of this Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in overall traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker sites. When I last checked they had around 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software update. In the past they had many complaints about the standard of the software. This included complaints regarding blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their upgrade we’ve seen hints that they might have some of the greatest software in america marketplace.
From worst to best at one upgrade? That may be pushing it. But based on the images I have seen, their applications DOES look much better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for mobile players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be wonderful to see more game choices.
In general, however, it is wonderful to see they are making advancements and are getting more competitive with what other high tier US poker websites offer.
Speaking of that, a Number of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay this out to you $5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clean the offer. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees more than $90,000 in tournament prize pools each and every weekend.
They have a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
Plus it’s not just a”bonus,” however, the matches here should be softer due to the US traffic and also the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be easier here in contrast to other poker (just ) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find a great deal of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft applications, each of which are known for creating topnotch games. Here’s the way their matches breakdown:
9 blackjack variants.13 table games.19 regular slots plus 37 3D slots.17 video poker games.Live traders for blackjack, blackjack, roulette and baccarat.

LIVE CHAT (for actual cash accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the reports I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
1 example came out of a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his experience, which was one of the worst I have heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I expected them to excel at customer services. How else could you explain the popularity of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat support (and that I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
After the live chat session started, I had to wait a couple of minutes until the customer support person bothered to answer, not just entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your username and password to some live chat box? I sure did not.
I explained that I don’t want to enter that information into a chat area and, what’s more, the question requires no such information since it was about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait ten minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely here), while receiving”Thank you for waiting. I will be with you in only a moment…” every now and then.
That said, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline states they offer exceptional customer services. In addition, he says that your very best bet is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This suggests to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with the way they manage customer support…an
