Forward Alexis Sanchez”doesn’t regret” joining Manchester United but he didn’t find enough playing time to be a success.
The midsize, 30, joined Inter Milan on a loan deal in August after 19 months in Old Trafford.
He had been the highest earner of United about #400,000 a week but scored just five occasions in 45 games.
“I am quite happy I moved to Manchester United,” Sanchez told BBC Sport.
“I have consistently said that. It is the club that has won the most.
“Once I moved to Arsenal it was fantastic – I was happy there – but United were climbing in the time, they had been purchasing players to win something.
“I wished to join them and win everything. I do not regret going there.”
After registering in Barcelona in July 2014 for # 30m sanchez scored 80 goals, also was nominated for the Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Players of the Year award at 2017.
But, his death for United coincided with a downturn in form.
Even though he impressed throughout the run of Chile the summer he scored two goals in 27 appearances for the Premier League side last season.
Sanchez started only 31 of 77 possible games for United and completed 13 of these.
“I think that I’m pleased when I play with for my national group,” he explained.
“I was happy at Manchester United too, but I’ve always mentioned to my friendsI wish to play.
“If they’d let me play I’ll do my best. Occasionally I’d play 60 minutes then I wouldn’t play another game – and that I did not understand why.”
Before his transfer to Inter Milan, Sanchez wasn’t involved with the club and didn’t feature in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side’s first three league games, in matches.
However, the Chilean stated he felt”ready to perform” following the Copa America.
“I felt fine,” he said. “I think I did well in the Copa America.
“After that, it [not playing with any pre-season games] depended upon the coach to let me perform . You will need to ask him this question, not me personally .”
