Under min vistelse i Stockholm över jul och nyår hade jag den stora äran att få bli fotograferad av fantastiska Ernst Henry och fick en massa fina bilder. Vilken är din favorit?

While I was in Stockholm in December I was honored to get a photo session with the amazing Swedish photographer Ernst Henry, and got a lot of beautiful headshots out of it. Which one is your favorite?

Efter tre regnig dagar sken solen i Seattle under min sista dag i staden. Började dagen med att som vanligt träna i gymmet och sen stod det packning på agendan innan jag skulle möta upp Nadine, Paul och Collin för lunch och därefter bli guidad av Nadine på lite sightseeing i Seattle innan mitt plan gick kl 18.05. Lunchen åt vi på Mistral Kitchen och så klart blev det fisk. Väldigt gott och väldigt trevlig personal. Tiden går fort när man har roligt och när vi lämnade restaurangen hade klockan blivit närmare 14.30. Nu fanns det inte mycket tid kvar för sightseeing. Vi gick tillbaka till Paul och Collins kontor, där Nadines bil stod parkerad och hon körde mig till mitt hotell så att jag kunde hämta mina väskor. Medan jag gjorde det gjorde hon upp en tidseffektiv sightseeing-plan.
Första stoppet blev Seattle Central Library, eftersom jag är intresserad av arkitektur. Byggnaden är designad av Rem Koolhaas. Jag hoppade ur bilen och rusade in i biblioteket för att ta mig högst upp och sedan gå ner igen medan Nadine cirklade runt kvarteret. Fantastisk byggnad! Intressant på många sätt. Gillade den sömlösa övergången mellan våningsplanen, även om det kändes som om jag var vilse hela tiden. Nästa gång jag är i Seattle måste jag gå dit igen för att ha tid att insupa hela atmosfären och arkitekturen. När jag kom ut biblioteket körde Nadine precis fram – bra tajming!
Nästa stopp blev Pike Place Market, som är stadens fiskmarknad, men det finns även annat än fisk. Vi hade inte tid att stanna och gå in, så Nadine körde sakta sakta utanför huvudbyggnaden, till bakomvarande bilars förtret, så att jag skulle kunna ta lite foton. Vi passerade då också världens första Starbucks.
Därefter började vi bege oss mot flygplatsen för att inte hamna i den värsta rusningstrafiken. Vi gjorde ett litet stopp till så att jag kunde ta en bild på Mount Rainier och sen fick vi ta resten av sightseeingen muntligt, utan vyer. Så jag hann inte se så jättemycket av Seattle denna gång, men nästa gång har jag en färdig lista att beta av 🙂

After three days of rain, the sun came out on my last day in Seattle. I started the day as usual, by visiting the gym, and then packing was on my agenda before going to lunch with Nadine, Paul and Collin and then, before my flight at 6:05 pm, a sightseeing tour with Nadine. We had lunch at Mistral Kitchen, and as usual we had fish. The food was great and the staff very nice. We had a really good time, so when we left the restaurant it was already 2:30 pm. Not much time for sightseeing now. We headed back to Paul’s and Collin’s office to get Nadine’s car and then she drove me to my hotel so that I could pick up my luggage. While I did that she made up an efficient plan for our sightseeing tour.
Our first stop was Seattle Central Library, since I’m interested in architecture. The building is designed by Rem Koolhaas. I jumped out of the car and rushed into the library to go all the way to the highest floor and then down again while Nadine circled the block. Such an amazing building! Interesting in many ways. I liked the seamless transition between the floors, even though it made me feel lost all the time. Next time I’m in Seattle I have to go back to really experience the architecture and the atmosphere. When I came out from the library Nadine just pulled up – perfect timing!
Next stop was Pike Place Market, which is Seattle’s fish market, but there are other things there as well. We didn’t have time to go inside, so Nadine drove very very slowly passed the main building (which made the cars behind us annoyed) so that I could take some photos. We also passed the world’s first Starbucks.
After that we had to go to the airport to not get stuck in rush hour traffic. We made one more stop though, so that I could take a photo of Mount Rainier. Then the rest of the tour was verbal without the sights. So I didn’t get to see a lot of Seattle this time, but next time I have a long list of things I want to see.

Så var det dags för själva inspelningen av reklamfilmerna. Två dagar hade vi på oss att filma fyra filmer. Förutom jag själv bestod skådespelarteamet av Nadine, Anthony, Michael och geten Deer. Det var en väldigt rolig inspelning med ett suveränt team bakom kameran. Men de hade inte gjort det lätt för sig. Några av filmerna kommer att innehålla specialeffekter vilket krävde en detaljerad exakthet vid inspelningen och att jobba med en get kan vara ganska oförutsägbart. Men allt gick smidigt. Vi filmade på caféet Canal Market i Seattle, som var öppet för kunder under hela inspelningen. Särskilt Deer fick mycket uppmärksamhet 🙂

Finally, it was time to shoot the commercials. We had two days to shoot four films. Except for myself, the actor team was Nadine, Anthony, Michael and the goat Deer. We had a great time and the team behind the camera was phenomenal. But you can’t say they’d taken the easy way, making these commercials. Some of them will have a lot of special effects, which required a detailed accuracy during the shooting, and working with a goat can be pretty unpredictable. But everything went smoothly. We filmed at the coffee shop Canal Market in Seattle. It was open for regular customers the whole time, and especially Deer got a lot of attention 🙂
The first commercial will be launched in February, so then I will post it on my blog. Stay tuned!

Mitt första besök i Seattle! Jag lämnade snöiga Sverige och flög till regniga Seattle med en mellanlandning på Island, som jag heller aldrig besökt tidigare, för ett reklamfilmsjobb. Kom dit på kvällen och morgonen efter var det dags för kostymprov. Jag, producenten Paul och stylisterna Ron och Gerard träffades på varuhuset Nordstrom för att gå igenom typ halva deras sortiment. Ron och Gerard hade plockat fram en massa fina kläder som jag fick äran att prova. Vissa favorit-outfits gick bort för att de inte passade med karaktären (en fantastisk Kenzo-klänning bland annat) eller för att det var för kort ärm på plagget, till exempel. När vi provat igenom allt och hittat runt tio outfits vi gillade tog vi en liten lunchpaus bestående av rosa champagne och smårätter. Life of an actress 😉 Nej då, så lyxigt är det verkligen inte alltid; Anledningen till champagnen var att Paul fyllde år. Efter vår lilla paus gick vi vidare till en butik som heter Baby & Company för nästa provning. Och mer champagne… Även här hittade vi en hel del saker som vi ville använda, bl.a. ett par jättesnygga Kenzo-skor.
Allt som allt behövde vi tre-fyra outfits, och dagen efter möttes vi igen på caféet där vi skulle spela in reklamfilmerna för att repa och för att kunden skulle välja vilka outfits det slutligen skulle bli. Kenzo-skorna blev okejade 🙂 På kvällen sen var vi ett gäng som gick till en mysig liten restaurang i Melrose Market, inte långt från hotellet där vi bodde. Seattle ligger ju vid vattnet, så självklart bestod vår måltid av en hel del fisk och skaldjur. Mätta och belåtna gick vi till hotellet – som tur var hade det slutat att regna – och vila inför den efterföljande dagens inspelning.

My first visit to Seattle! I left a snowy Sweden for a commercial job in rainy Seattle with a pit stop in Iceland (where I’ve never been before either) changing planes. I arrived in the evening and the morning after I had a wardrobe fitting. I, the producer Paul and the wardrobe stylists Ron and Gerard met at Norstrom to go through half of their collection it felt like. Ron and Gerard had picked a lot of gorgeous clothes for me to try on – it was really a treat! Some of our favorites were voted out because they didn’t fit the character I was going to play (like a beautiful Kenzo dress) or because the sleeves were too short, for example. When I had tried everything on we had about ten outfits that we liked and then it was time for a lunch break, consisting of pink champagne and appetizers. Life of an actress 😉 No, it’s really not that fancy all the time; The reason why we had champagne was because it was Paul’s birthday. After our little break we went to a store called Baby & Company for more fittings. And more champagne…. We found a lot of stuff in this boutique as well, for example a pair of amazing Kenzo shoes.
In total we needed three to four outfits, and the next day we met again at the coffee shop where we were going to shoot the commercials to rehearse and so that the client could choose which outfits we were going to use. The Kenzo shoes got in 🙂 Then in the evening a couple of us went to a cozy restaurant at Melrose Market, not far from our hotel. Seattle is located by the water, so our meal was full of seafood. Full and contended we walked back to the hotel – luckily the rain had stopped – to rest for the coming day’s shoot.

Så var det ett nytt år och jag är tillbaka i LA. Hade några underbara veckor i Stockholm under jul och nyår, då jag hann träffa familj och vänner, njuta av snön och även jobba lite som guide på skärgårdsbåtarna. Fjärde advent var jag i Berwaldhallen för att lyssna på Arméns musikkårs julkonsert. Dramatenskådespelerskan Irene Lind var med och läste bland annat Viktor Rydbergs ”Tomten”, vi sjöng allsång och fick höra många av de klassiska julsångerna spelas. Efter det hade man verkligen kommit in i julstämningen. Även om det då inte ännu fanns snö på marken. Men sen kom den ju. Det var fantastiskt vackert att ta långa promenader på Djurgården. Och att guida i skärgården. En eftermiddag hade vi en helt otrolig solnedgång och sedan la sig isen på vattnet också. Perfekta vinterveckor! Jag njöt i fulla drag, innan det var dags att lämna Stockholm för att åka till Los Angeles med ett stopp i Seattle på vägen för ett roligt jobb. Mer om det kommer längre fram 🙂

So, then it’s a new year and I’m back in Los Angeles. Had a couple of wonderful weeks in Sweden over Christmas and New Years, when I got to see my friends and family, enjoy the snow and also work as a tour guide in the archipelago of Stockholm. The Sunday before Christmas I went to a Christmas concert in the beautiful Berwaldhallen. A famous Swedish actress, Irene Lind, was there to read a couple of Christmas poems, there was singalong and the Royal Swedish Army Band played a lot of the traditional Christmas songs. So after that you really was in the Christmas spirit. Even though there was no snow on the ground… But then, a week later, it came! It was incredibly beautiful to take long walks at Djurgården, Stockholm’s big green area. And to be on a boat in the archipelago guiding tourists. One afternoon we got to see this amazing sunset and then the water froze as well. Perfect winter weeks! I totally enjoyed it. And then it was time to leave Stockholm to go back to Los Angeles, with a stop in Seattle on the way for a fun job. More about that is coming up in later posts 🙂
