Igår måndagen den 17/10 var det stor och pampig invigning för den nya utställningen ” Royal wedding dresses 1976-2015 ” på kungliga slottet. Drottning Silvia invigde själv utställningen tillsammans med kronprinsessan Victoria och prinsessan Sofia.
Kungligt, lyxigt, romantiskt är ord som väl beskriver känslan på bilderna från invigningen. Man kan mycket väl tänka sig att det måste väckt många vackra minnen och känslor till liv för både drottningen och prinsessorna som fick återuppleva sina bröllopssagor på invigningen.

The wedding dress, in three shades of white, was created by the Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt. The dress is made from silk crêpe overlaid with Italian silk organza. Couture lace made by José María Ruiz was applied to the dress, and the train was hand-cut and then hand-stitched in Ida Sjöstedt’s studio in Stockholm.

The Crown Princess’ wedding dress is made from pearl-white double-sided duchess silk satin with a 4.6 metre long train, designed and produced by Pär Engsheden.
The dress has short sleeves and a turned-out collar, which follows the rounded neckline. It has a v-shaped back with covered buttons. The sash at the waist is buttoned up at the back.
The train is edged with a border, fastened at the waist, and has the same shape as the veil. The train is almost five metres long. The Crown Princess’ shoes were made up in the same fabric as her dress.
The Crown Princess wore Queen Sofia’s lace veil, the same veil that was worn by Crown Princess Victoria’s mother, Queen Silvia, at her marriage to King Carl Gustaf in 1976.

Swedish design
The wedding dress, in three shades of white, was created by the Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt. The dress is made from silk crêpe overlaid with Italian silk organza. Couture lace made by José María Ruiz was applied to the dress, and the train was hand-cut and then hand-stitched in Ida Sjöstedt’s studio in Stockholm.

The Crown Princess’ wedding dress is made from pearl-white double-sided duchess silk satin with a 4.6 metre long train, designed and produced by Pär Engsheden.
The dress has short sleeves and a turned-out collar, which follows the rounded neckline. It has a v-shaped back with covered buttons. The sash at the waist is buttoned up at the back.
The train is edged with a border, fastened at the waist, and has the same shape as the veil. The train is almost five metres long. The Crown Princess’ shoes were made up in the same fabric as her dress.
The Crown Princess wore Queen Sofia’s lace veil, the same veil that was worn by Crown Princess Victoria’s mother, Queen Silvia, at her marriage to King Carl Gustaf in 1976.
