Hand upp!

// This is a hard post to translate into English because, well, glögg might not be that common where you live. Basically, it’s all we talk about from December 1 until mid January when we drink the last of it and say ”good riddance”. It can’t be saved until next year and we can’t throw any of it away because that would be, well, Swedes consider throwing out alcohol to be a mortal sin. Alcohol abuse we call it.

Anyway, to make a long story short, 15 years ago the manufacturers thought the old fashioned way to spice glögg wasn’t enough and have since then tried (and failed miserably) to throw in basically anything they could think of. Lavender, blueberries, saffron – just weird. All of it.

This year, they teamed up with fancy The London Tea Company, added Earl Grey tea and had Scandinavian Design Group to get inspired by British porcelain for the bottle. Afternoon Glögg they call their creation and this year, it might actually work! I’m going to have a go at it and throw a new type of glögg party because, honestly, I’m a little fed up by gingerbread cookies with blue cheese on it. Which is the main thing you have with glögg. Now you know!
